At Pete and Gerry's Organic Eggs, our family has been farming for four generations. We are totally committed—okay, a little obsessed—with bringing you the highest-quality, safest, and freshest eggs possible. We are a values-led company, dedicated to the humane treatment of animals and small family farms, who we believe are the best stewards of environmental sustainability. In 2003, we became America’s first Certified Humane egg producer, under the auspices of Humane Farm Animal Care. In 2013, we became America’s first egg producer to earn the “B-Corp Certified” designation as a For-Benefit Corporation, under the auspices of B-Labs. All our eggs come from small family farms like ours. These are real farms, not factories that simply use the farm label. All our farmers follow the strictest standards of humane animal treatment, safety, and environmental sustainability. We believe our hens deserve a safe, comfortable place to live a happy, healthy life – and that our family farmers deserve the right to keep their lands and livelihoods without having to resort to unhealthy factory-farm practices. That’s not just good for our hens and our planet – it’s also good business. Rather than becoming yet another factory farm, we grow our healthy business by recruiting other small family farms to supply us with eggs. We increase our efficiency and productivity by using cutting-edge production techniques and smart automation to process and distribute our eggs, but never by cramming the animals that provide us food into inhumanely small spaces.
