NH Businesses for Social responsibility welcomes new board members!
NHBSR Announces New Board Members from Stonyfield and Dartmouth-Hitchcock
Concord, New Hampshire, November 2, 2016 – New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility (NHBSR) is pleased to welcome Lisa Drake of Stonyfield and Melissa Skarupa of Dartmouth-Hitchcock, to the organization’s board of directors.
Lisa Drake is the Director of Sustainability Innovation at Stonyfield, the world’s leading organic yogurt manufacturer based in Londonderry, New Hampshire. For 14 years, Lisa has developed and managed Stonyfield’s award-winning environmental and energy initiatives. As a primary architect of the company’s Mission Action Program, Lisa has driven transformational change by building environmental considerations into the company’s “DNA”. Lisa also leads Stonyfield’s advocacy efforts in the areas of energy and climate.
Of joining the NHBSR board, Lisa shares, “I'm happy to be joining the great group of passionate folks on the NHBSR Board. I always enjoy being with NHBSR members and sharing in the energy we have for sustainable business and social and environmental innovation. I'm looking forward to being part of creating programs and resources that help all businesses in NH find opportunities to make a difference in our communities and in their industries and to celebrate our collective successes.”
Lisa has served on the Board of Directors of Climate Counts, a non-profit organization bringing consumers and companies together in the fight against climate change and is currently on the Advisory Board of the New Hampshire Food Bank in addition to her serving on the board of NHBSR.
Melissa Skarupa is the Community Relations Manager for Dartmouth-Hitchcock and has over 15 years’ experience in Community Relations and Communications.
Melissa shares, “I very much look forward to serving on the Board of New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility because I believe that social responsibility should be at the core of every business. At Dartmouth-Hitchcock, giving back to the communities we serve and working closely with vital community organizations is at our core. We are dedicated to supporting organizations in our communities that share similar values, and ultimately help make the communities we serve a healthier and better place to live while creating a sustainable health system. I look forward to helping engage the community in the great mission of NHBSR!”
Melissa has volunteered time with many local non-profits and served as the VP of Communications for the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce, Auction and Marketing Chair for the Animal Rescue League of NH, and currently is part of the Nahua Department of Public Health and Community Service’s Access to Healthcare Work Group and is on the Board of Trustees for the YMCA of Greater Nashua. She has also run the Boston Marathon the past two years for Boston Children’s Hospital.
