CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Federal environmental officials say seven New Hampshire companies and the Upper Valley do the best job in the state of cutting down on pollution by giving workers choices in how they commute to work.
The Environmental Protection Agency named Dartmouth College, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Mascoma Savings Bank in Lebanon; Hewlett Packard and Oracle Corporation in Nashua; Rockingham Regional Planning Commission in Exeter; and the University of New Hampshire in Durham.
For the last four years, the agency has released a list of the best workplaces for commuters.
To qualify, companies must offer such options as carpooling and access to an emergency, guaranteed ride home.
