Brian Murphy

Brian Murphy, AIA, is co-founder and principal architect at Placework, an architecture, planning, and urban design firm in Portsmouth, NH. Through his work he encourages whole systems thinking to create an architecture of social, ecological, and aesthetic integrity. As a perpetual student of places and trained in sustainable building practices, resilient and adaptive planning, and regenerative design, Brian is interested in bringing the built environment into better balance with the natural environment. He believes careful listening, strategic questioning, and long-view visioning are critical to designing more equitable and inclusive places.
