History of the Competition: 

Since 1997,  NH Businesses for Social Responsibility and Business NH Magazine have recognized businesses, both large and small, that have created outstanding company cultures. Each year, companies across the state submit applications extolling their benefits, company cultures, training and educational opportunities and their mission statements in the hopes of being named as one of the Best Companies to Work For in NH.

Submissions are pared down to 20 semi-finalists and the final 10 are selected by a panel of judges from various business sectors. The Best Companies competition has evolved during the years, adding site tour visits to the semi-finalist round, splitting the competition into large and small company categories in 2000 and establishing an honor roll of companies that have made the list five times.

Winners are celebrated at the annual "Breakfast with the Best" event.
